It’s raining, the river levels are all looking high, lets go rafting!!!
We will plan to meet at the rafting sheds (131 olinda grove, through the gate which is the first left after the roundabout) at 08:00. If you don’t have a car and need a lift up from the TUU carpark let me know and we will sort out a lift up to the sheds around 07:45.
Make sure you’ve got plenty of warm clothes and everything you need for rafting. If you are unsure about the gear you need have a read through this article about what to bring:
We will plan to run a easy-medium difficulty river that is nice and close to hobart. At this stage I’m thinking the Lower Styx, the Tyenna or the Russell River. We’ll decide on the morning. It will depend on water levels, experience of participants etc. Be prepared for a bit of a walk in if we end up doing the Styx.
Beginners are certainly welcome on this trip however you will need to be able to swim and be prepared for wet conditions as the weather is looking a bit hectic!
I want to be finished nice and early, I’m hoping to be back at the sheds by 16:00.
Any questions let me know!
